Alert rules

Have FiveStaff watch every player log event and tell your team on Discord or by email when something looks wrong.

On this page

Alert rules watch the player log as events arrive and tell somebody when one matches: a huge bank transfer, a burst of items appearing, an account being drained.

Open Player log and press Alert rules.

Alert rules
Your rules, and templates to start from

Start from a template#

Start from one of these has ready-made rules. Press one, check it, and save it:

Template Tells you when
Large money transfer Somebody receives a transfer of 1,000,000 or more
Possible duplication One player has 50 inventory events within a minute
Staff spawned something Anything in the Admin category happens
An account being drained 500,000 or more is withdrawn within ten minutes
An expensive thing changing hands A property or vehicle sale of 500,000 or more

Building your own#

Press New rule.

The alert rule builder
Build a rule, and see how often it would have fired
  1. What to call it: this is the headline of every alert, so make it clear to whoever is woken up by it.
  2. What to watch: whole categories, one exact kind of event, one item, and an amount range.
  3. When to tell somebody:
    • Every time: each matching event.
    • A burst: when one player has so many matching events within a few minutes.
    • A total: when one player's amounts add up to so much within a few minutes.
  4. Then quiet for: how long to wait before alerting about the same player again.
  5. How loud: Worth knowing, Look into it or Drop everything.
  6. Where to send it: Discord, Email and Push.

As you build, the panel shows the rule as a sentence and how many alerts it would have sent over the last 24 hours. If it would send dozens a day, tighten it before you save. Nobody reads an alert channel that never stops.

Where alerts go#

  • Discord posts to your Player logs channel. See connect Discord.
  • Email and Push go to staff who turned on A player log rule fires under your alerts, and who can read the player log.

Each rule can be paused, edited or removed from its card. A server can have up to 25 rules.
